About Ashley Hickey Flavin
Ashley J. Hickey Flavin is a sculptor and painter, born in New Hampshire and residing in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Her work focuses on the emotion, color, and texture of nature and the human experience, and how they relate to one another.
Ashley spent much of her childhood in the woods and in the garden, which harnessed a great love of wildlife. She uses a variety of mediums to create abstract and conceptual pieces; wood, clay, and dried moss, plaster hand castings, and heavy textured acrylic paintings.
Ashley received her BFA in sculpture and drawing from California University of Pennsylvania in 2010 and has participated in over a dozen group shows in the Pittsburgh area, as well as three solo exhibitions. She has served on the board and as president of Pittsburgh's Society of Sculptors, and currently works from her studio space at Radiant Hall.
